Darling, stop confusing me with your wishful thinking.

My friend decided she wanted to style my hair for me, and I actually quite liked it! It's rare for me to like my hair being up and out of my face (hair shield, anyone?!) so she must have done a pretty good job :)

Childhood nostalgia

These are all things that remind me of my childhood...and the 90s in general!
When I look at this, I realise there's a sort of theme that's carried through into my 20's... magic, mystery, darkness. Oh, and a bit of British humour ;) (SMTV Live anybody?!)

It seems a bit weird for me throw Slipknot into the mix, but growing up they were my brother's favourite band. I used to laugh at him for listened to them, funny because now I love them and he's not all that keen!

Shakespears Sister- Stay. Instant tearjerker. Same for Madonna-Frozen
And obviously, what kind of 90s kid would I be if Philosopher's stone wasn't on the list! It makes me sad that my big sister lost my book that I'd had since the age of 5!
These are definitely things that shaped me whilst growing up, and they still hold a special place in my heart!

Wish list *-*

I guess being constantly poor comes with the territory of being a student; (despite working 40 hrs a week over the summer :/) bills suck up all of my money, which means I have to satisfy my spending cravings through window shopping (or whatever the internet version of that is!)
I currently have that spending itch (you know the one!) so list making will have to do!

Mmmmm...clothing <3

Now there's nothing but time that's wasted...

and words that have no backbone.

Beauty Essentials

  • Dainty Doll loose mineral Powder (Shade: 002)
  • Dainty Doll liquid foundation (Shade: 001
  • Rimmel Lasting finish foundation (Shade: True Ivory) - I mix both the Dainty Doll and Rimmel foundation so I get a light enough shade with a good coverage.
  • Dainty Doll Concealer (Shade: 001
  • Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro primer (002
  • HD Brow palette (Shade: Bombshell
  • Daniel Sandler Watercolour blush (Shade: Cherub)
  • Natural Collection Eyeshadow (Shade: Heather
  • Barry M Metallic liquid eyeliner (Shade: Black
  • Rimmel Glam eyes day2night mascara (Shade: Black
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara (Shade: Black
  • Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting (Irish Cream Pavlova)
  • Daniel Sandler Base Brush
  • Eyelash Curlers
  • Foundation sponge
Okay, so that sounds like A LOT, but this is what I would use if I were to do my make up properly as opposed to my usual 'OH GOD I'M LATE FOR WORK!' rush. My foundation routine pretty much stays the same, and I use various types depending on the condition of my skin.
My eye make up varies day to day usually, but again if I'm rushed for time, simple eyeliner and/or eyeshadow keeps me happy. :)

HD Brow Palette

I briefly wrote about the HD Brow Palette in my Glossybox post , and I basically said I wasn't sure if it was something I'd actually use/like.
I finally had the time to practice with it this morning, and I actually really love it!
When I say I had 'time to practice,' I anticipated having to try it out a few times before getting it right but the photos below are of the first (and so far, only) attempt.

It's a lot easier than I expected it to be.

For the past couple of weeks I have been using a Benefit eyebrow palette. It's something that I have quite liked using, but sometimes it's a bit too harsh when you just want a natural look. The HD brow palette is perfect for achieving this.
As you can see in the first photo, my eyebrow is still pretty well defined but in the 2nd photo you can see that it's not just a blocked out eyebrow, it's still very natural looking!

The Glass Child

There's really no point in me writing a lot about The Glass Child...her music speaks for herself, very strongly!
If you like music that is all heart, talent and passion then you will love this.

I can't remember how I first heard of Charlotte, aka The Glass Child, I'm sure it was probably by rummaging through the depths of the internet; and for that I would like to give myself a pat on the back. It really has been so refreshing to listen to music that really is all about the music, with no sense of ego involved.
Charlotte frequently updates her youtube channel just to keep her fans updated with what she's been working on, and this is just one way in which she shows her appreciation of those who have supported her.
If you follow her on twitter or tumblr, you would soon know how important keeping in touch with her fans is and how much she genuinely seems to care about them. It's very refreshing, and I imagine very time consuming, but she does it nonetheless.

You can purchase her CDs here or have a sneaky listen of previews via itunes, and y'know, buy something there ;)
I can't end this without leaving a few of my favourites, so here we go!

shopdixi.com

I try to tame my internet spending habits, I really do. I'm uncontrollable though.
It's worth it though, because the postman delivered some items that made me very, very happy :)

I grabbed myself a couple of goodies from ebay, courtesy of shopdixi.com

My items were sent in this box and the small bag (nice little touch!)

Items up close

I'd never even heard of an 'over knuckle ring' but I think I might actually like it!
I usually only wear small rings as I hate the ones that are so big you stuggle to close your fingers together...but this is the perfect size so that isn't an issue!

The prices are so good (especially if you manage to get lucky on their ebay items, like I did!) so if you like vintage and unique jewellery, accessories and clothing, you should definitely check out Dixi.

Check them out at:
